This shark scares the dirt out! I bought this about a month ago and I love it! I have a ton of tile in my home and with 2 dogs and 2 cats the tile and grout gets DIRTY! Nothing I used worked to really clean the floor and there wasn't a thing to clean the grout. I bought this hoping to do both and it worked! The little mop cover is great for cleaning the floor and the power washer attachment blasts water on the grout and you can see the dirt come out. Make sure to have a towel near you when cleaning grout because this machine DOES NOT suck up water like other floor mops.
When mopping, it doesn't leave a lot of water on the floor and it dries very quickly. The mop cover washes just fine in the washer (don't use the dryer) and I bought some extra ones from the eureka online site ($9 for 3 more).
I haven't used this on windows or the shower, but I'm sure it will do the job. YOu should see the grime that this picks up...and the floor LOOKS CLEAN before I use it, but no no no...it's an illusion :) I would highly recommend this for steam cleaning floors, grout, and most likely it will do a great job on any area that needs a deep steam clean (remember, this does not suck up the water).
Great Little Machine Bottom line ... this is a great little machine that does the work it's meant to do. I used this machine for a solid 45 minutes while vacuuming two entire floors of my home - including stairs - one of the best parts was that this machine did not over-heat as with other 'bagless' vacuums I've purchased in the recent past (which were put out into the garbage!).
I could see that the vacuum was performing from the dust and debris that was entering the dirt cup. My home has all hardwood floors with a "mud" throw at the various entrances. The vacuum works great on hardwood surfaces and also did a nice job on the thin non-slip entrance rugs. Assmebly was a snap ... literally. The vacuum is VERY lightweight which is a big plus in preventing scratches on hardwood. This vacuum also has a very quiet motor - you can actually hear the phone and/or doorbell while you're running the vacuum!
Although I'm happy with my purchase and believe this is a great little machine, I do have a couple of "CONS" but nothing that would have made me change my mind in purchasing this item had I known ahead of time about them ... (1) the cord is very short, but hey ... that's what extension cords are for, and (2) I was used to having that little 'hang-up' hole on the vacuum handle to be able to suspend the vacuum on a utility rack - this vacuum does not have that feature. I improvised and added a little leather luggage strap around the handle, and solved that 'dilemna'. Great little vacuum and a great little price!
Only good for carpets I bought this model to replace a swivel glide I had for over 10 years. Disappointment is too mild a word for this model. It only has 1 extension wand, the hose is extremely short, there is no extra floor attachment, and the on/off lever is at floor level. Went to their website to order more extension wands. Their website doesn't work so you have call. You will have to order more wands to reach any ceiling higher than 6 ft. Any attachments you might have have had from a previous model or another vac (all fit the previous model) do not fit this vac. The hose and wand ends are exactly the same size as the ends on other attachments. The short hose makes it very difficult to clean with the wands (I end up using both hands to control), and the entire vac is always right behind/in front of you because of the short hose. I have delegated this vac to the upstairs and am looking for a different brand. It is unusable for the living areas and useless if you have pets. Whoever approved the design of this vac for Royal should be fired. The only decent thing about it is the price.
Pass on it. Major negatives: The hose on this unit has the nasty habit of working loose from the wand no matter how hard you insert it. This happens unexpectedly and makes the unit tricky to use as the wand can fall out and hit you on the leg. And the cheap plastic hose material kinks easily. Also, after 9 months of light use, the motor is beginning to sound like it needs replacement. Minor negatives: there is space at the end of the handle but no way to stow any of the accessories in it. What were the engineers thinking? Pass on this thing.
