Hey, it's a filter!
I love my Bissell vacuum, which uses this filter. Since you can't really see the tiny particles that HEPA filters remove from the air, it's rather impossible to tell if it actually works. But, hey, it's a filter! It's better than nothing but beyond that... I can think of more important things to worry about.

If your vacuum uses this filter, you should probably just buy it and move on. :)

Great Vacuum for the Price
Shopped for a replacement for my ancient Hoover Self-propelled vacuum
This one has a number of great features I was looking for:

Easy to carry; It has handholds at the top and the bottom of the handle that make it easy to carry from room to room, as well as helping to vacuum stairs

Easy to use tools: The tools are stored at the top, and the access door flips down and away from you, allowing easy access. The hose is short, but allows me to easily snap on an attachment for cleaning off the furniture, and carpet edges. A longer hose is available as an option. I have not tried it.

Good suction thru the hose and at the powerhead.

Effective cleaning; the dirt finder light does seem to work. It stays red until is senses no particles are being pulled up.

Light weight; at least 5 lbs lighter than the self propelled version. Much easier to carry up and down the steps.
Simpler construction should last much longer than the self-propelled mechanism, too.

Easy assembly; took a whole 5 minutes.

Noise; not the quietest, but not as loud as my old Hoover

Bagged; I tried a bagless unit once... what a mess every time you have to dump the dust can. This one comes with a hepa material replaceable bag. Fill it up, dump the whole thing. No muss, no fuss...

All said, a great unit for a great price.

Best little sweeper!
I love my sweeper! I have had it for a year now and it is like having my 24/7 maid. It does NOT replace my vacuum, but as a "sweeper" for quick pick up jobs, under the dining table after a meal, when the dots fall out of my hole punch, etc. it is PERFECT.

Remember, you only plug it in to charge it, you don't leave it plugged in 24/7.

Metro vac went kaput, in less than 15 minutes
I gave this to my aunt for christmas. It stopping working within the first 10 minutes of use. I'm infuriated. It simply failed, the vehicles electrical fuses were all intact. I bought the Metro vacuum because it touted "Made in USA". That labeling made me feel good.

I have another (POS) 12 volt vacuum of my own, which cost only $19. It was Made in China. It works fine and is over 6 months old.

This sort of thing gives me gray hair.

It sucks -- I mean, really well!
I have been very impressed with the power of this vacuum cleaner. My old Oreck (8+ years old) was just not cutting it anymore, and I read the reviews for this Hoover model and decided to give it a go. I'm picking up cups and cups of pet hair (that I couldn't even see going in) from carpeting that was supposedly "clean" from the Oreck.
Only complaint I have is that the Oreck weighs less than pounds, and I think this thing weighs closer to 30, which might be a consideration for those without upper body strength. But otherwise, I am pleased with my purchase.
